Highlighted significant gifts and pledges made to Rutgers between July 1, 2016, and June 30, 2017:

$18 million investment from RWJBarnabas Health to create best-in-class sports medicine program and sports facility.

$5 million from an anonymous donor to support Rutgers athletics.

$5 million from RWJ Foundation to enhance and expand Child Health Institute of NJ at RWJMS.

$4.18 million from RWJ Foundation to support advancement of effective health policy in NJ and technical assistance and direction of NJ Health Care Policy Center’s State Health Initiatives program.

$4.1 million from Leora M. Sies Theater Fund Foundation to support production of plays, especially Shakespeare.

$3.2 million from Gary M. RC’74 and Barbara W. DC’76 Rodkin and the Rodkin Family Foundation to establish science scholars and global service-learning endowments at Douglas Residential College; to benefit the Douglass Residential College Global Village Fund; and to support middle and high school students in the Rutgers Future Scholars program.

$3 million from Marian Wissman to create the Herman L. and Marilyn M. Wissman Chair in Economics at Rutgers University–Camden. The endowed chair is the second in Rutgers–Camden’s history.

$3 million from more than 430 donors to establish the Gloria Steinem Endowed Chair in Media, Culture, and Feminist Studies. The holder of the chair will address the ways technology and new media are reshaping culture and develop programs to promote a more inclusive media landscape.

$2.98 million from the Good Ventures Foundation to the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences to support research by Professor Alan Robock on the impact of nuclear war.

$2.05 million from anonymous donor to create endowed scholarship for Rutgers Future Scholars.

$1.79 million from William Penn Foundation to support the GSE NIEER and Philly pre-k program.

$1.69 million from Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation to benefit Dr. Chakhalian’s research in physics.

$1.37 million from Pussycat Foundation to benefit BOLD Women’s Leadership Network in support of Rutgers–Newark Honors Living-Learning community.

$1.25 million from anonymous donor to support Rutgers Law School at Camden dean’s excellence fund.

$1 million from Sharon Karmazin DC’67, SCILS’69 to provide services for adults with autism, helping them lead independent and fulfilling lives.

$1 million from Bruce S. Nicholas ENG’49 and Phyllis Walker Nicholas to support the renovation of the Nicholas Music Center.

$1 million from Philip and Janice Levin Foundation to support scholarships at Rutgers Law School and Mason Gross School of the Arts.

$1 million from Robert LC’86 and Laurie Platek to support the RWJBarnabas Health Athletic Performance center.

$1 million from Aimee Ramcharran PHARM’04 and Bibiano and Asuncion de Chavez to benefit the Malabuyoc de Chavez endowed fund and endowed scholarship at Rutgers Business School in New Brunswick.

$998,900 and $849,262 from RWJ Foundation to facilitate measurement of activity in promoting culture of health and for Center for State Health Policy for assessing perspectives on health.
