Faculty-authors exhibit reflects 50 years of nursing change

Nursing photo As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, the College of Nursing hosted a faculty and alumni authors book display and reception September 28 at the John Cotton Dana Library on the Newark campus. Featured books reflected the evolution of the nursing profession during the college’s first five decades. The attendees were greeted with words of welcome from Felissa R. Lashley, dean of the College of Nursing; Lynn Schneemeyer, vice provost for research, Newark; Marianne Gaunt, university librarian, Rutgers University Libraries; and Lynn S. Mullins, Dana Library director. Following the reception, Rachel Jones, a College of Nursing faculty member, presented video vignettes for hand-held computers aimed at reducing reduce HIV sexual risk behavior in young women living in urban areas. Authors at the reception included, left to right, Linda Scheetz, associate dean for student affairs; Wendy Nehring, associate dean for academic affairs; Gayle Pearson, assistant dean, Center for Professional Development; Lashley, dean and professor, Elizabeth Norman, College of Nursing alumna; Judy Barberio, clinical assistant professor and alumna; and Lucille Joel, professor. The books will be displayed in the Dana Library lobby through October 13.
