Jewish Film Festival
November 9 at 7 p.m.
"Live and Become," a drama about an Ethiopian boy attempting to make a new life in Israel, and "Metallic Blues," a tale of German-Jewish relations revealed through a get-rich-quick scheme devised by two Israeli car dealers, are highlights of the seventh annual Rutgers New Jersey Jewish Film Festival. The event, which runs November 9 through November 19 in North Brunswick, features award-winning films from around the world and includes the New Jersey premieres of three critically acclaimed works.

Tickets are on sale now; advance purchase is strongly suggested as many screenings sell out in advance. The festival is sponsored by Rutgers’ Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life with the support of the Karma Foundation. The Bildner Center is in the middle of a yearlong celebration of their tenth anniversary.

Screenings will be at the Regal Cinema Commerce Center, 2399 Route 1 South, North Brunswick. Tickets are priced at $9, or $27 for events that include a dinner or reception. Discounts are available for students and seniors. Ticket information is available from jewishstudies.rutgers.edu or by calling the Bildner Center at 732-932-4166. Tickets are also available at Trio Gifts, 246 Raritan Ave., Highland Park.
