Rutgers Marine Scientist Keynotes ‘Teach at the Beach’

WHAT: Professional development day for K-12 teachers, designed to help them bring the marine environment into their classrooms

WHERE: Tuckerton Seaport, Main Street, Tuckerton, N.J.

WHO: Keynote speaker Ken Able, professor of marine science and director of the Rutgers University Marine Field Station in Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; representatives of the New Jersey Marine Education Association, the Tuckerton Seaport and the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve; and 125 K-12 teachers from around New Jersey will attend.

WHEN: Friday, May 15, from 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.

BACKGROUND: Jointly sponsored by the Rutgers-managed Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve and the New Jersey Marine Education Association, the annual Teach at the Beach program brings K-12 teachers together for a day of exploration and discovery along Barnegat Bay and Great Bay.
