Announcing Year-End Campus Faculty Awards for Teaching (May 4, 2011)

May 04, 2011

To the Campus Community:

As the academic year comes to a close, I am pleased to announce that the following members of the Rutgers–Camden faculty have received honors for demonstrated excellence in teaching:

The annual Chancellor’s Awards for Teaching Excellence will be presented to Dr. Holly Blackford (associate professor, CFAS-English), Dr. Christopher Fitter (associate professor, CFAS-English), and Prof. Kimberly Mutcherson (associate professor, CLaw).   In each case, the selection committee noted the exemplary commitment to exceptional teaching displayed by the recipients.

Dr. Blackford and Dr. Fitter will receive their awards during the Arts and Sciences Honors Convocation on May 12, while Prof. Mutcherson will receive her award during the law school’s annual Class Day ceremony on May 18.

The annual Lindback Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching will be presented to Dr. Luis Garcia (associate dean and professor, CFAS-psychology), who was cited for his dedication to students and innovation in teaching.  He will receive his award during the Arts and Sciences Honors Convocation on May 12.

These awards, which do not reflect the myriad honors bestowed by external organizations throughout the year, are indicative of the extraordinary quality and commitment of the faculty and staff at Rutgers–Camden.  Please join me in congratulating our colleagues on a job well done.
