Strong Campus Support for Annual Charitable Campaign (April 6, 2011)
To the Campus Community:
I am pleased to report that Rutgers–Camden has achieved a milestone in its participation in the New Jersey State Employees Charitable Campaign. During the recently concluded 2011 campaign, 94 members of our community contributed $21,253 to charitable organizations that serve our state and our region. This represents the highest amount raised in recent memory. As a point of reference, the campus raised $21,040 during the 2010 campaign.
Thanks to your support, many organizations are able to continue or extend their service to our neighbors and our communities. We’ve always known that Rutgers–Camden is committed to helping others; your participation in the 2011 New Jersey State Employees Charitable Campaign is just another public indicator of that civic spirit, and another reason to be proud of our campus. I thank you for your support of this worthy endeavor.
During the campaign, I offered to invite five randomly selected participants to join me as my personal guests at an off-campus lunch. Those individuals are Dr. Shaheen Ayubi (instructor, CFAS-political science); Diane Hagerman (project manager, New Jersey Health Initiatives Program); Mary McGovern (library assistant II, CLaw); Dr. In Kwon Park (assistant professor, CFAS-public policy); and Dr. Shankar Sundaresan (assistant professor, SBC-management).
My thanks to all who participated in this campaign, and to every member of our campus for your ongoing commitment to Rutgers–Camden.
Wendell Pritchett
Chancellor
