The Rutgers Future Scholars Program will provide up to 200 economically challenged, academically promising eighth-grade students from the university’s home communities of Newark, Camden, New Brunswick, and Piscataway with opportunities for educational growth, social development, personal enrichment and economic support over the next five years. Upon successful completion of the program and acceptance to the university, the first group of students will become members of the Rutgers Class of 2017. Each year, 200 new eighth-graders will be selected for the program.
