Newark, NJ – Nationally prominent observers on the intersection of race, ethnicity and the law will speak at the Thursday, October 16, symposium entitled “Perspectives on Obama, Race and the Law,” sponsored by the journal Rutgers Race and the Law Review at Rutgers School of Law–Newark. Speakers will examine the electoral process and Senator Barack Obama’s recent political ascent and analyze the way in which Obama’s achievements and mixed heritage have impacted various issues relating to race and the law. The symposium will be held beginning at 4 pm in the Baker Trial Courtroom.
