Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. to Discuss Legacy of Civil Rights Movement in October 6 Miller Lecture at Rutgers–Newark Law School

Newark, NJ – Vernon E. Jordan, Jr., eminent lawyer, civil rights leader, and adviser to presidents, will deliver the 2009 Paul S. Miller Distinguished Lecture on Tuesday, October 6, at Rutgers School of Law–Newark. A noted speaker and frequent guest on major national and radio broadcasts, Jordan will discuss the legacy of the civil rights movement – its successes and failures. The lecture will begin at 6:30 pm.

Vernon Jordan has served as president and chief executive officer of the National Urban League, executive director of the United Negro College Fund, Inc., and director of the Voter Education Project of the Southern Regional Council. He currently is a director of Lazard Ltd. and Lazard Group and senior counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.
