Rutgers Computer Scientists Receive Google Grant to Develop Personalized Data Search System
Computer scientists Amelie Marian and Thu D. Nguyen received a grant from Google to develop a personal data search system that draws from social media pages, personal calendars, bank account information, email, Skype conversations and work documents, among other things.

School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University in Newark Hosts Aspiring Leaders Summit for High School Students

This event is not free to the public. To attend, all prospective participants must apply and be accepted.
| WHAT: |
The 2010 New Jersey Aspiring Leaders Summit is a nonpartisan leadership and public service program for 40 New Jersey, high school students who will be rising seniors this summer. Through a series of workshops focusing on leadership, community development, global citizenship, and social entrepreneurship, the Aspiring Leaders Summit will help young people gain the knowledge and skills necessary to participate as effective citizens in a democracy and acquire leadership and community service experience. Over the course of one week, program participants will learn to work with a diverse group of their peers and examine the role of leadership in their educational and career objectives. They also will explore the possibility of attending Rutgers University and learn about the college application process as well as scholarship and other financial aid opportunities. Moreover, participants will receive one undergraduate academic credit from the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University in Newark (SPAA). |

The cost is $1,500 per student. A few scholarships are available to help defray the cost. |
