Planning to Enter the Cell Phone Video Contest? Free Film Making Classes at R-N in October

Free classes in film making are being offered at Rutgers – Newark campus from 11:00 – 12:30 on October 6, 13, 20 and 27 for students 16 – 22 years of age as preparation for the national “Cell Phone Cinema Contest: Imaging Women…the Immigrant Voice.”  Interested students should visit www.wim-n.com/cellphone-cinema-contest/ and click on the link on the right for film making class registration.

About the Event:

The free film making class is being offered as preparation for the national Cell Phone Cinema Contest: Imaging Women…the Immigrant Voice.  Cell phones have become powerful tools for storytellers and Women in Media-Newark is looking to help youth follow Nokia's lead and use cell phones to create movies that tell the passionate stories of women from the immigrant perspective perspective.

This offering is a collaboration between Women In Media – Newark, Rutgers University’s Center for African Studies, and Rutgers University’s Program for Community - University Partnerships, with sponsorship from Rutgers Center for Global Advancement and International Affairs.
