National Award Presented to Rutgers-Camden Student Affairs Staffer

CAMDEN Camden resident Patrick Wallace, program coordinator for the Office of Campus Involvement at Rutgers UniversityCamden, has been named the New Professional of the Year for Region Three from the Association of College Unions International (ACUI).

This award is a testament to Patricks dedication to students and his volunteer efforts within the association, says Allison Wisniewski, assistant dean of students at Rutgers-Camden.

As program coordinator, Wallace, 24, organizes and plans campus-wide events for the 5,750 undergraduate and graduate students at the Camden campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Wallace helped coordinate this years well-attended lectures by Michael Moore and Ann Coulter, and is planning an upcoming talk by horror film icon Bruce Campbell, author of If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor.

A native of South Philadelphia and Sewell, Wallace graduated from Washington Township High School in 1998. He earned his bachelors degree in English from Rutgers-Camden, where he is currently pursuing a masters degree in English.

The Association of College Unions International supports its members in the development of community through education, advocacy, and the delivery of services.
