New Assistant Dean for Development Named at Rutgers-Camden Faculty of Arts and Sciences

CAMDEN -- Cherry Hill resident Jonathan Boiskin has been named assistant dean for development for the Rutgers-Camden Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

In his new position, Boiskin will identify and secure major gifts for Rutgers-Camdens largest academic unit, which enrolls 3,433 undergraduate students in 29 majors and 437 students nine graduate programs. The Rutgers-Camden Faculty of Arts and Sciences consists of the College of Arts and Sciences, University College, Honors College, and the Graduate School. Funds raised will support such initiatives as student scholarships, advanced classroom teaching tools, faculty development, and programs that address regional and statewide community needs.

Prior to his arrival at the Camden campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Boiskin served as associate vice president for advancement at the American College in Bryn Mawr, where his leadership increased philanthropic support and volunteer involvement.

Boiskin, 33, previously worked at Drexel University, where he served as director of development for the LeBow College of Business and the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Media Arts & Design, and Information Science & Technology. He also served as director of development for the arts at the University of Pennsylvania and director of the Young Leadership Council at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.

He serves on the boards of the Temple Beth Shalom Religious School in Cherry Hill and the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jerseys campaign committee. He is a coach with the Cherry Hill United Soccer Association.

He earned his bachelors degree in history and Hebrew and Jewish civilization from the University of Cape Town (South Africa) in 1992 and his masters degree in fundraising from Brandeis University in 1995.

Boiskin lives in Cherry Hill with his wife, Staci, and their daughters, Shari, 5, and Gabrielle, 4.
