Civic League of Greater New Brunswick Honors Rutgers with Community Service Award
NEW BRUNSWICK/PISCATAWAY, N.J. The Civic League of Greater New Brunswick Inc. (CLGNB), the oldest professional nonprofit organization serving the African-American and minority communities in central New Jersey, will honor Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, with its Community Service Award tomorrow (Nov. 21) at a luncheon at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick.
President Richard L. McCormick is expected to accept the award during the Equal Opportunity Day Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. The Civic League recognizes organizations and companies that have made significant contributions to the goals of the CLGNB during the preceding five-year period.
Rutgers is being honored for partnering with the Leagues youth program and Rutgers Upward Bound, its responsiveness and cooperation in supporting the Georges Road Gateway Project, and its donation of more than 75 desktop computers to sixth grade students in the New Brunswick Public School District through the Leagues Computer Loan Program
