Rutgers School of Business Program Now Offers Continuing Education Credits for HR Managers
For Immediate Release
CAMDEN -- A professional development program at the Rutgers School of Business—Camden has been approved to award credits to help human resource management professionals maintain national accreditation.
The Rutgers Accelerated Management Program (RAMP) now is authorized to award 35.5 credits in the category of “strategy” in accordance with the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), part of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) based in Alexandria, VA.
HR professionals seeking HRCI accreditation must obtain 60 credits from approved programs every three years. The credit requirement consists of functional components, such as “strategy,” and can be obtained only from such HCRI-approved programs as the Rutgers Accelerated Management Program.
Participants can earn more than half of their required credits through the Rutgers program.
“RAMP provides a high-level, challenging learning experience for any current manager or business leader” says Ray Compari, associate dean and director of the Rutgers Institute for Management and Executive Development at the Rutgers School of Business—Camden. “The fact that HRCI has endorsed this Rutgers program is exciting and we are pleased to be able to provide a source of SHRM credits to human resource professionals in the State of New Jersey and the metro Philadelphia region.”
Participants in the Rutgers Accelerated Management Program are challenged with a case-based learning experience that explores topics such as: leadership, performance management, law, finance and international business. Program instruction is led by Rutgers School of Business faculty and guest speakers. Course completion includes a competitive, team-based case presentation to a panel of invited corporate executives.
The fall session begins Sept. 4. The Rutgers career development program is designed to minimize time away from the office. Eight RAMP sessions will be held over four months at the scenic Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken.
