BACKGROUND:

The “Great University Bake Sale” is among many efforts at Rutgers to help combat the growing problem of hunger in New Jersey. The recently launched Rutgers Against Hunger (RAH) initiative brings this and other activities together as part of a universitywide effort to help address this problem. RAH aims to increase awareness of hunger and food insecurity, encourage activism and service to tackle hunger, stimulate research to assist those in need, and provide immediate relief through food drives and events such as the bake sale to raise money and collect food for food banks and emergency pantries that serve the wider community.
