NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The New Brunswick Community Farmers Market will close out its first season of operation this Saturday with a Harvest Moon Festival featuring facepainting, balloons and arts and crafts activities for children; games, raffles, giveaways and handmade crafts and jewelry; as well as fresh, locally grown produce. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the market located at 178 Jones Ave. at the intersection with Georges Road. Off-street parking is available. The event, which was rescheduled due to rain on Oct. 3, is free and open to the public.
Operated by Rutgers in partnership with Johnson & Johnson and the city of New Brunswick, the market was established in July to provide a convenient location for area residents to purchase fresh produce and have access to nutritional information, cooking demonstrations and other community services.
