Rutgers-Camden Panel to Examine "Fixing Broken Cities" on Oct. 21

CAMDEN -- A panel of noted scholars will present a free public discussion about the challenges facing the City of Camden and other urban centers across the United States during a special event at Rutgers University–Camden during 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21.
John Kromer, a senior consultant at the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute for Government, will discuss his new book, Fixing Broken Cities (Routledge, 2009). Kromer also served as interim director of the Camden Redevelopment Agency.
Joining him in the discussion will be Robyne Turner, chair of the Department of Public Policy and Administration at Rutgers–Camden, and Howard Gillette, a Rutgers–Camden professor of history and author of the book Camden After the Fall: Decline and Renewal in a Post-Industrial City.
“Author Meets Critics: Fixing Broken Cities by John Kromer” will be held in the main lounge of the Campus Center, located on Third Street, between Cooper Street and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge on the Rutgers–Camden Campus. Free parking is available in Rutgers Lot 13.
