Rutgers-Camden Experts Available to Discuss Women's History Month

RUTGERS EXPERTS: WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH

The following experts from Rutgers University—Camden are available to discuss topics related to March’s celebration of Women’s History Month.

 

Dr. CATI COE is an assistant professor of sociology at Rutgers-Camden. She is the author of the book “The Dilemmas of Culture in African Schools: Nationalism, Youth, and the Transformation of Knowledge.” A co-founder of the scholarly organization Working Group on Childhood & Migration, Coe can discuss:

- Migrant women’s issues

Dr. JANET GOLDEN is a professor of history at Rutgers-Camden. She is the author or editor of several books, including “Message in a Bottle: The Making of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome” and “A Social History of Wet Nursing: From Breast to Bottle.” She researches the history of babies in modern America. She can discuss:

- American women’s history

- Medical history

Prof. SALLY GOLDFARB is an associate professor at the Rutgers University School of Law at Camden. She is a former senior staff attorney at the National Organization for Women Legal Defense and Education Fund, where she founded and chaired the National Task Force on the Violence Against Women Act.  She can discuss:

- Violence against women

- Where we are now since the founding of the Violence Against Women Act

- Women’s roles in the family

Dr. MARGARET MARSH, interim provost of the Rutgers-Camden campus, is the co-author of the book “The Empty Cradle:  Infertility in America from Colonial Times to the Present” and the author of “Suburban Lives” and “Anarchist Women:  1870-1920.”  Recently featured in the PBS documentary “The Pill” about the history of oral contraceptives, she can discuss:

- Fertility

- Infertility

- Reproductive technology and its history
