Campus Activity on Saturday, April 12 (April 14, 2008)
To the Campus Community:
Rutgers—Camden was bustling with activity on Saturday, April 12, when more than 1,000 guests, including prospective and admitted students, visited the campus during an Open House (sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions) and the 20th annual Rutgers—Camden Spring Writers’ Conference.
At every turn, our guests were greeted by friendly and helpful Rutgers—Camden staff, faculty, students, and graduates, who showcased our campus quite smartly. The campuswide admissions team assembled well-considered workshops and activities for our visitors, who learned first-hand about Rutgers—Camden's excellent academic, extracurricular, athletic, and administrative programs.
The students and their families toured our campus, as well as our waterfront neighborhood, and gained a richer appreciation of the many opportunities offered by Rutgers—Camden and our host city.
Meanwhile, the 20th annual Rutgers—Camden Spring Writers’ Conference attracted some of its largest crowds ever. These individuals enjoyed a full day of activity and interaction with top writers here on our campus.
Days such as this past Saturday truly are invaluable to the growth and reputation of our campus. I would like to thank every member of our community who worked to make Open House and the Spring Writers’ Conference successful. Some of you gave up your Saturday to greet our guests; others worked behind the scenes beforehand to plan event schedules and make sure that the grounds and facilities looked their very best.
Your dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm are distinguishing characteristics of our campus. Thank you again for your commitment to Rutgers—Camden.
Margaret Marsh
