Message from the New Chancellor (July 6, 2009)

July 06, 2009

Dear Colleagues:

At the end of my first day, I have had the opportunity to meet with faculty, staff, and students, and my conviction that Rutgers–Camden is an extraordinary campus is stronger than ever.  During the summer, I intend to meet with many of you as I bring myself fully up to speed with your achievements and goals.  While it's true that we face challenges in the current economic climate, we have tremendous opportunities for growth on behalf of the campus, the city and region, and, indeed, all of Rutgers.

As I begin this new job, I want to thank Interim Chancellor Margaret Marsh for her vision and leadership over the past two years.  We are deeply indebted to her for her ongoing service as she returns to the deanship of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.  We also are grateful to Michael Palis for his exceptional work as interim dean of CFAS.

If you see me on campus, I hope that you will take the time to introduce yourself.  I look forward to meeting you and working together on behalf of Rutgers–Camden .

Wendell Pritchett

Chancellor
