I am pleased to announce the appointment of Drew Kaiden to the position of assistant chancellor for development.

In this role, Drew will play a key part in helping the campus to successfully compete for the external support that Rutgers–Camden needs if we are to continue to attract and retain top students, promote faculty research, and develop new opportunities for civic engagement.  He will lead the development and alumni relations teams on our campus to help the deans and me in our efforts to increase connections to and investment in our campus.

Most recently, Drew served as associate vice president of development and alumni relations at Long Island University-Brooklyn, where he played a critical role in the most successful fundraising campaign in the history of LIU’s College of Pharmacy.  He previously served the Archdiocese of New York as associate director of parish fundraising and as regional director of the Cardinal’s Appeal.

Drew earned his master’s degree from Long Island University and his bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College.

His first day in at Rutgers–Camden will be Monday, March 3.  He will be located at 411 Cooper Street.  Please join us in offering our congratulations and full support to Drew as the campus pursues increased engagement with our alumni and our supporters.

As we welcome Drew to his new role, I want to thank Danielle Smereczynski who served as acting assistant chancellor for development over the last few months as we sought to fill this position. Through her focus and effort, Rutgers–Camden continued to make noteworthy progress with external funders during a critical period. I am grateful to Danielle for her willingness to take on this role and ask you to join me in thanking her for a job well done.  Upon Drew’s arrival, she will return to her duties as a director of development for our campus.

Wendell E. Pritchett, J.D., Ph.D.
