Film Series to Highlight Metropolitan and Urban Issues
Throughout the fall, metropolitan and urban issues will be front and center, as Rutgers University–Camden presents a thought-provoking film and discussion series.
Experts on the respective subject matters will introduce the films and open dialogue.
Screenings, which are free of charge and open to the public, will be held at noon Fridays in the faculty lounge on the third floor of Armitage Hall, located on Fifth Street, between Cooper Street and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge on the Rutgers–Camden campus.

The series begins on Sept. 26, as Joe Willard, vice president of policy for the People’s Emergency Center, introduces American Winter (2013).

Do the Right Thing (1989)
Moderator: Ed Guerrero, an associate professor of cinema studies at New York University, and author of the book Do the Right Thing, which explores the social impact of Lee’s film.
This series is co-sponsored by Rutgers–Camden’s Center for Urban Research and Education and Digital Studies Center. Founded in 2001, the Center for Urban Research and Education aims to encourage, facilitate, and promote research on urban issues by Rutgers–Camden faculty and their collaborators around the nation. The Digital Studies Center is an interdisciplinary, collaborative research, development, and education center, whose purpose is to help kick-start, facilitate, support, and promote projects that are made possible by the convergence of digital technologies with the humanities, as well as the arts, natural, and social sciences.
