WHAT: New Jersey Statewide Career and Internship Fair at Rutgers University.

WHO: Nearly 150 public and private sector employers and more than 3,000 entry-level and experienced job candidates are expected to participate.

WHEN: Friday, May 2, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Sonny Werblin Recreation Center, 656 Bartholomew Road, Piscataway.

BACKGROUND: The U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the unemployment rate remains at 6.7 percent in April 2014. Employment has grown in professional and business services, health care, and mining and logging. The National Association of Colleges and Employers also reports that employers plan to hire 8.6 percent more graduates this year than from the Class of 2013.

Job seekers are encouraged to wear business attire and bring multiple copies of their resumes for employers. Parking will be available at the Yellow Lot on the Livingston Campus in Piscataway. Free shuttle buses will run continuously between the Yellow Lot and the Werblin Recreation Center from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
