Annual 32-hour fundraiser has raised over $2.5 million for children with cancer

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – The 14th annual Rutgers University Dance Marathon will take place from Saturday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, April 1 at 6:00 p.m. in the College Avenue Gym, 130 College Avenue, New Brunswick.

On Sunday, April 1 at 3:00 p.m., Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand will speak in support of the marathon and its cause. 

Raising $2,713,227.50 over the past thirteen years, Dance Marathon is New Jersey’s largest student-run philanthropic event. Nearly 1000 student volunteers will stay awake and on their feet for 32 hours to show their support for local families impacted by childhood cancers. 

Rutgers' Dance Marathon is the top contributor to the Embrace Kids Foundation, a New Brunswick-based organization dedicated to supporting the non-medical needs of children with cancer. Embrace Kids families will also be on hand to share their personal stories. 

The event will also feature performances by bands, including The Verdict, The British Invasion, IOU, Soul Cruisers, and Jimmy and the Parrots. 

About Embrace Kids Foundation

Embrace Kids Foundation is committed to relieving emotional, spiritual and financial concerns caused by childhood cancers.  The foundation provides non-medical services to New Jersey children and families through family programs and support services at absolutely no cost to families. Child patients range in age from infancy to young adulthood and encompass all ethnic and social backgrounds.
