New questionnaire captures confirmation at sign-on

Rutgers Today, Rutgers news - UHere Streamlines Student Enrollment Tally, student uses laptop in library
By using RUHere to confirm attendance, students will no longer have academic work disrupted by financial issues.

The new RUHere online verification process that goes into effect this fall will give students more time to get their finances in order and pay their tuition without disrupting their academics.

The new online verification process is being rolled out by the Office of Enrollment Services and the Office of Information Technology. It requires students to verify their enrollment the first time they log in to any app or online resource that uses NETID to gain entry. Students will then be prompted to complete a simple RUHere questionnaire before the app or webpage loads.

If a student responds “yes” to the RUHere questionnaire, they are considered enrolled and, if eligible, will receive financial aid. Their classes will not be canceled for nonpayment or an open balance on their term bills.

If a student responds “no” to the enrollment question, their registration will be canceled, and they will not receive financial aid.

RUHere verification is required for Rutgers–New Brunswick, Rutgers–Camden, and Rutgers–Newark students. With the exception of students in the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and traditional RN or BS School of Nursing students, students enrolled at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences are not required to respond in fall 2018.

Jean McDonald-Rash, associate vice president for enrollment services, said that the new RUHere questionnaire will help the enrollment office provide “seamless, integrated, effective and responsive student services that both meet Rutgers students’ needs and are aligned with the expectations associated with being a world-class institution.”

Students have until Sep. 17 to complete the RUHere questionnaire. Enrolled students who fail to respond by the deadline will have fall 2018 courses and financial aid canceled.
