“On behalf of the university, I would like to thank the negotiation team from Teamsters Local 97 for their efforts in reaching this agreement,” said Fernández.

In addition, an agreement was reached to align university benefits related to sick leave accruals and usage, bereavement leave, and tuition remission.

“The agreement was overwhelmingly accepted by the Teamsters Local 97 members at Rutgers,” said John Gerow, president of Teamsters Local 97. “It’s gratifying that Rutgers sees their loyalty and hard work.”

The negotiated changes in the Memorandum of Agreements (“MOAs”) will be codified and posted on the UHR website.
